Hawker Siddeley HS121 Trident 1E
Model No. GJCAW772
In July of 1956 British European Airways (BEA) submitted a Request for Proposal to the different British aircraft manufacturers for a short to medium-haul jet transport. The winning design was submitted by de Havilland for the DH 121, a tri-jet transport with seating for between 97 and 103 passengers. When de Havilland merged with Hawker Siddeley in 1959 the DH 121 became known as the Trident 1 (later developed into the Trident 1E).
